The Kits

Each kit specifies its level (beginner, intermediate, or advanced) and the beginner kits are designed for someone who has never embroidered before. The threads are pre-cut to the correct length, the booklet explains each step one by one with illustrations, and a starter video guides you. If you have any questions, an embroidery community is available to help you.

Each kit contains: all necessary metallic threads pre-cut to exact length, a prepared backing fabric, the pattern printed to scale, a complete illustrated technical booklet, an embroidery needle, and access to the goldwork embroidery stitch videos, available in your customer area. Everything is packaged neatly, ready to be gifted.

Start by looking at the level indicated on each kit. If this is your first goldwork embroidery, choose a "Beginner" kit. If you have already embroidered (even with a different technique), an "Intermediate" kit is an option.

If in doubt, write to us—we will help you choose.

This depends on the kit and your pace. Beginner kits take between 4 and 6 hours in total. Intermediate kits take between 8 and 12 hours.

Advanced kits take between 15 and 20 hours. These times are indicative — many of our embroiderers spread the work over several weeks, breaking it down into 1 to 2-hour sessions.

No. Cannetille & Cannetille produces in small, artisanal batches. When a kit is sold out, you'll have to wait for the next production run (usually 3 to 4 weeks).

Everything needed to create the design is included in the kit. The only accessory you need is an embroidery hoop, a stand-up embroidery frame, or a tapestry frame.

You will also need good lighting and a pair of small scissors for more comfort.

Yes, the pattern is already transferred to the embroidery fabric so you can start immediately.

The kit is designed so that the gold embroidery completely covers the printed lines.

Yes, this is often the case.

The beginner kits are designed as an introduction to goldwork embroidery: educational, progressive, and accessible without prior experience.

The packaging is also designed to be ready for gifting.

To preserve its beauty, it is advisable to store a gold-thread embroidered piece away from direct light and humidity.

Avoid repeated rubbing and handle it with care.

For framed pieces, keep the glass clean and avoid prolonged exposure to sunlight.

With these precautions, your embroidery will retain its luster for many years to come.

Goldwork embroidery

Goldwork embroidery uses specific metallic threads (purles, jaserons, flatworms, etc.) that are laid on the surface of the fabric rather than threaded through it like conventional thread.

Goldwork embroidery has its own specific vocabulary: jaseron stitch, purl stitch, chipwork, couching, etc.

This technique is historically used in haute couture, ceremonial uniforms, and crafts.

Goldwork embroidery is more intricate than classic embroidery, but it's not inaccessible.

The movements are different, more precise, but they can be learned progressively. Beginner embroidery kits have been specifically designed to introduce these goldwork stitches and techniques without feeling overwhelmed.

Our smooth, matte, crimped, and beaded purl, our lamé and jaseron threads, are sourced directly from India, from the same manufacturers that supply major luxury embroidery workshops.

This direct sourcing allows us to guarantee exceptional quality at an affordable price.

Like all metallic materials, purl, bullion, and other metallic threads may change over the years if exposed to humidity, sunlight, or repeated friction.

With good storage conditions, goldwork embroidery retains its luster for a very long time.

Metallic threads require sufficient light to work with. We recommend embroidering in natural light or with a good desk lamp.

For your hands, a thimble is recommended for long sessions. Our advanced kits include ergonomic advice in the booklet.

Learning & Support

Yes. Once you have purchased the kit, you will have access to explanatory videos of the stitches. They are available from your customer account.

Yes. Clients can share their progress, ask questions, and exchange tips and inspiration in a private group. They also have early access to all collections.

Depending on the period, online workshops or sessions may be offered. The newsletter is the best way to be informed of upcoming dates.

Orders & Deliveries

Orders are generally prepared within 2 to 5 business days.

During launch or restock periods, lead times may be slightly extended.

Yes, Cannetille & Cannetille delivers to several countries: France, Belgium, Netherlands, Germany, Luxembourg, Italy, Spain, Portugal, Canada.

Shipping costs and delivery times are calculated at checkout based on the destination.

Returns are accepted if the kit has not been opened or used. For any inquiries, please contact us within 14 days of receiving your order.

Cannetille & Cannetille was born from the desire to make goldwork embroidery more accessible, without compromising its demanding nature or beauty.

This rare technique is often reserved for haute couture houses, specialized schools, or professional workshops.

We wanted to create kits that allow people to discover this craft at home, at their own pace, with clear and reassuring guidance.

The kits are designed, prepared, and assembled in France, in small batches.

Each model requires extensive preparatory work: material selection, yarn preparation, drafting of technical explanations, and checking components before shipping.

Goldwork embroidery requires specific materials and a lot of manual preparation.

Producing in small quantities allows us to maintain consistent quality, carefully prepare each kit, and avoid overproduction.

We select our materials for their workability, durability, and visual appeal.

The metallic threads are sourced directly from specialized manufacturers who also work for luxury embroidery workshops.

Yes. Each design is created specifically for goldwork embroidery, taking into account the technical level, learning pace, and final result.

Some models are produced in very small quantities and are not always reproduced.
